The Secret Majority

Helping People Make Better Decisions In Family Breakdown.

Through psychology-led training, coaching, and mediation support, we help individuals and family law professionals understand how emotion shapes decisions, communication, and outcomes.

Built on courage, connection, and adaptability.

When Emotions are High, Decision-Making Changes.

Divorce and family breakdown are uniquly human experiences. They are shaped by emotion, imagined futures and phenomenal ruptures of all kinds. They are not just legal processes.

When people are overwhelmed, experiencing trauma and grief, they are psychologically not able to able to make informed, rational decisions in the way they usually would. Rather, decisions are often made based on fear, protection, attachment, and uncertainty.

This can affect:

•    Agreements that could otherwise be reached
•    Communication between separating partners
•    Legal negotiations and outcomes
•    Long-term wellbeing for families

This is where The Secret Majority comes in.

We help bring clarity to what is happening beneath the surface, so better decisions can be made at the surface.

Family mediation

A structured, neutral space to support communication and agreement between separating parties.

Better Understanding Leads to Better Outcomes.

When we understand what is happening emotionally and psychologically during separation, we can:

  • Reduce conflict and misunderstanding

  • Improve communication between parties

  • Support clearer decision-making

  • Reduce escalation in legal processes

  • Create more sustainable agreements

This work is not about taking sides.

When we better understand what drives behaviour when people are navigating divorce, we can create better outcomes for everyone.

How We Work

Everything we do at The Secret Majority is grounded in three core values:

courage (1).png

Courage

To face difficult conversations and decisions with honesty, understanding and care

public-relation (1).png

Connection

To bring empathy, understanding, and supportive communication—even in moments of tension, misunderstanding, or emotional distance.

adapt.png

Adaptability

To encourage openness, perspective-shifting, and a willingness to move beyond fixed thinking, supporting growth and flexibility when emotions and circumstances change.

These values shape every aspect of our work.

Who We Work With

We work with:

  • Family law professionals who want to develop informed insight into client decision making and the impact of language to achieve better outcomes and agreement.

  • Individuals  who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain.

  • Couples who want to not only reach an agreement, but also acknowledge that if they have children, their communication doesn’t end with that agreement. We use psychosocial knowledge to support outcomes that enable ongoing, constructive co-parenting communication.

  • Organisations supporting families through transition
