MIAM: What to Expect
If you’ve been asked to attend a MIAM, you may be wondering what it actually involves — or perhaps feeling a little apprehensive, and that’s completely understandable.
Your MIAM is an individual meeting with a family mediator before mediation begins. It is an opportunity to talk confidentially about your situation.
Your MIAM is a one-to-one meeting with your mediator. Your former partner will have their own separate MIAM.
We’ll talk about what has brought you to mediation, what matters to you and your children, and the issues you may need to make decisions about, such as child arrangements, finances or property and you can ask as amny questions as you'd like.
We’ll also explain:

the role of the mediator
-

-
what other options may be available to you
-
